Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and musician. She began by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed rap songs that addressed issues like racial identification as well as sexuality. She then expanded her audience to Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents from Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came through trumpet. After a classical and jazz education her interest in hip-hop grew when she was an teen. In her studies, she majored in journalism, and women's studies at college, even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. Following graduation, she decided to pursue music as her main focus. Following her viral success on the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album featured other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$1. The latter track connected directly with another Awkwafina project NYC a travel guide published in 2015. A musician and author was on her resume she set her sights on a third endeavor actor. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with a few movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. It was in June that she released In Fina We Trust.
